What is Traeger Wifire?
Traeger Wifire is a device that allows you to connect your Traeger Smoker to the internet and control it remotely.
It’s basically like having an app on your phone that lets you change settings and monitor the temperature at all times.
It’s a great tool for those who want to be able to check on their food while they are away from home, but it also has some drawbacks:
- The device can only be used with certain models of smokers. If yours isn’t compatible, there aren’t any alternatives available yet but hopefully this will change soon!
- Resetting the device requires removing its battery cover and pressing two buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds before reconnecting power again. This process may take some practice before getting right on first try. However once mastered resetting should only take about 5 minutes total including re-pairing with Bluetooth in case anything goes wrong during setup process
Step 1: Prepare Your Grill
To start, you’ll want to power off your grill and remove all of the accessories. This includes the drip tray, grill grates and any other parts that may be attached to them.
If you have an older model Traeger Wifi or another type of pellet smoker with a digital display panel on top of it (like mine), then this next step will be different than if yours doesn’t have one.
You’ll need to unplug it from its power source before proceeding further with this process because we’re going to take apart some electrical components inside here which could potentially shock us if we don’t disconnect first!
Step 2: Locate Reset Button
- The reset button is located on the back of your Traeger Wifi. It’s a small white circle with “RESET” written above it in red lettering.
- To access the reset button, remove both side panels from your grill (they pop off easily). Then look for two screws on either side of where you plan to place your meat or veggies that’s where you’ll find it!
Step 3: Reset Grill
To reset the Traeger Wifi, you will need to press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. When you do this, the LED light will blink red three times.
After pressing and holding for 5 seconds, release your finger from the reset button. Wait until all four lights come back on before continuing with step 4 below.
Step 4: Reassemble Grill
- Replace Grill Grates
- Replace Drip Tray
- Power On
Step 5: Connect to Wi-Fi
Now that you have reset your Traeger Wifire, it’s time to connect the device back to a Wi-Fi network.
Open the Traeger app on your phone and select “Grill” from the menu at the bottom left corner of your screen.
Then enter in all of your Wi-Fi network information (SSID name and password) into their respective fields.
After doing this, tap “Connect” at the top right corner of your screen and wait for it to connect with your home network
Troubleshooting Tips
If your Traeger Wifi is still not connecting, check the Wi-Fi signal strength. If the signal is weak, move it closer to your router or modem.
If that doesn’t work, check the grill power supply by unplugging it from its power source and plugging it back in again.
If none of those tips help with your connection issues, try re-checking all of your settings before contacting customer service
Conclusion
The Traeger Wifi is a great tool for the home chef. It allows you to monitor and control your smoker from anywhere in the world, as long as it’s connected to the internet.
The process of resetting your Traeger Wifi is simple:
- Unplug power cord from outlet, then remove battery from back panel of unit (if installed)
- Hold down “Main” button on front panel for 5 seconds until LED flashes red/yellow/green repeatedly (about 10 seconds), then release button
